About Prattical Weighing

We started Prattical Weighing whilst on our journeys around Australia in 2025 with our young family. Our purpose was to help people understand their weights, but also their tow vehicle.  The vehicle is what carries your family around and ensures your safety, and it is important to us to help educate those who wish to understand how weight should be distributed to get this best outcome. We are now stopped in our home town Newcastle for a year before we hopefully hit the road again in 2027.

Stu, with he's many years of towing, but Stu's biggest attribute is he's knowledge of cars. Starting out at 16 years old, Stu has worked as a mechanic, mainly on Toyotas and Isuzus.  Stu has a vast knowledge of vehicles and how they operate, even helping out some whilst out weighing. Whilst he was always a Toyota man with he's trusty 80 series landcruiser, he eventually upgraded to a Nissan Patrol with a GVM upgrade to accomodate a growing family and larger van. We have now upgraded the car again to ensure safe and suitable weights for towing a larger van.
